Historic Comeback: Donald Trump Triumphantly Returns as 47th U.S. President
GUWAHATI: Donald Trump is set to be inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States on Monday, marking a significant comeback amidst various challenges such as criminal charges and attempted assassinations. The ceremony, initially planned for the west front of the US Capitol, has been relocated to the Capitol Rotunda due to harsh winter conditions.
The nation’s capital is undertaking rigorous security measures to ensure a smooth event. Unlike the tumultuous events of 2021, authorities do not expect major protests or violence. Instead, Washington, DC, is preparing for large crowds celebrating Trump’s return and the Republican Party’s resurgence under the “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) movement.
Organized by the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies (JCCIC), the inauguration will feature traditional elements like the oath-taking, inaugural address, and parade. Trump will swear the presidential oath, committing to “preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.” Vice President-elect Vance will also be sworn in during the proceedings.
The inaugural parade will travel along Pennsylvania Avenue, concluding at the White House. Additional events will include a signing ceremony, a luncheon showcasing regional dishes, and an array of grand inaugural balls throughout Washington, DC.
The intimate ceremony in the Capitol Rotunda will accommodate around 600 attendees, including Trump’s family members such as Melania Trump, Donald Jr., and Ivanka Trump, and other close associates. Noteworthy figures such as Supreme Court justices, military leaders, former presidents, and cabinet nominees will be present alongside members of Congress and international dignitaries. Invitations have also extended to tech industry leaders like Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, Shou Zi Chew, and Sam Altman, highlighting the event’s high-profile nature.
