Shock and Relief: Mumbai Police Swiftly Arrests Accused in Saif Ali Khan Stabbing Case
Bollywood Actor Saif Ali Khan Stabbed; Attacker Arrested
In a shocking incident, Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was stabbed multiple times during an attempted robbery in his Bandra apartment in Mumbai. The incident occurred early Thursday morning, leaving the 54-year-old actor with serious injuries that required surgery to remove a portion of a broken knife lodged dangerously close to his spinal cord. Fortunately, doctors have confirmed that Khan is out of danger and will be discharged soon.
The Mumbai Police swiftly responded to the attack and launched a manhunt, which culminated in the arrest of the accused in Thane three days later. The suspect, initially identifying himself as Bijoy Das but later revealing his name as Mohammed Sajjad, was apprehended while hiding under dried grass and leaves deep inside a thicket. Police are currently verifying his identity. A senior officer mentioned that Das was familiar with the location as he had previously worked there, which allowed him to find a secure hiding spot.
Further investigations led to the arrest of another suspect, Aakash Kailash Kannojia, at Chattisgarh’s Durg railway station. Kannojia was traveling on the Jnaneshwari Express from Mumbai to Kolkata when he was detained. CCTV footage played a vital role in both arrests. In the footage, the attacker was seen fleeing down the staircase after the assault, and Kannojia was captured buying earphones at an electronics shop.
As the investigation unfolds, Mumbai Police continue to examine the motives behind the attack and the involvement of both men. Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan’s recovery is a relief to his fans and the Bollywood community, who await further updates on the case.
