Unprecedented Shift: Passionate Block-Level Leaders from Congress and BJP Embrace AAP Revolution
Ahead of the February 5 Delhi Assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has seen a significant influx of leaders and workers from both the Congress and BJP, bolstering its ranks in key constituencies. On Saturday, many block-level leaders from these two parties joined AAP in a ceremony attended by Chief Minister Atishi, who welcomed the new members by saying that AAP’s influence continues to grow, inspired by Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership.
Notable figures among the new entrants include Mamata Verma, who, along with several Congress workers from the Wazirpur constituency, shifted allegiance to AAP. The Kirari constituency also witnessed a migration of leaders and workers to AAP. In addition, BJP’s former councillor candidate from Sundar Nagri, Bhumika Singh, allied with AAP, further strengthening its cadre ahead of the crucial polls.
The 70-member Delhi Assembly election is set for February 5, with results expected on February 8. The recent defections mark a strategic gain for AAP as it gears up for a potentially competitive electoral contest.
