A tragic accident occurred early Saturday morning, January 18, near the Necem cement factory in Umrangso, Dima Hasao district, involving a school bus from Sacred Heart School. The bus, carrying registration number AS 08 C 2292, overturned, resulting in the death of a student named Dalmir Rongpi. Several others were injured in the accident.
According to initial reports, the bus was carrying multiple students at the time of the incident. At least 15 students sustained injuries, with three in critical condition. These critically injured students are currently receiving urgent medical care.
Authorities have launched an investigation to uncover the circumstances leading to this unfortunate event. Further updates on the investigation and the condition of the injured students are awaited.
