Rajib’s Fiery Rebuke: Unyielding Criticism of CPIM & Congress for Disrespecting Dr. Ambedkar and the Constitution
Agartala, 17th January 2025: Tripura BJP President, Rajib Bhattacharya, has criticized the CPIM and Congress for what he calls their disingenuous veneration of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and the Indian Constitution. Speaking at the “Gaurav Abhiyan” rally in Agartala, a part of the BJP’s “Sangvidhan Gaurav Abhiyan” initiative, Bhattacharya accused the opposition of hypocrisy, claiming their recent rallies in Dr. Ambedkar’s honor are performed to cover up their history of disrespect.
He contended that the CPIM and Congress’s actions are mere theatrics to gain political favor, recalling instances where their leaders allegedly conspired against Dr. Ambedkar. Bhattacharya cited leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru, Rajiv Gandhi, and Indira Gandhi, accusing them of undermining Dr. Ambedkar’s electoral efforts and fabricating constitutional violations.
In illustrating his point, Bhattacharya referred to a by-election where a CPIM leader encouraged voters to destroy their ballots rather than support Dr. Ambedkar. This act, according to Bhattacharya, highlights the CPIM’s alleged hypocritical stance, given their current organized rallies in his name.
Additionally, Bhattacharya praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his genuine recognition of Dr. Ambedkar’s contributions to the nation. He noted the government’s development of five pilgrimage sites dedicated to the Indian Constitution’s chief architect as a testament to its earnest acknowledgment.
The BJP’s “Sangvidhan Gaurav Abhiyan” aims to increase public awareness of India’s Constitution and reaffirm Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy. This campaign will include multiple rallies across all districts of Tripura, seeking to educate citizens on what the BJP describes as the opposition’s historical contradictions and disrespect.
