Honoring Excellence: BSF Commandant Rakesh Sinha Receives Prestigious Director General’s Commendation in Tripura
In a ceremonial function held in Agartala, the Director General of Tripura Police, Amitabh Ranjan, honored Rakesh Sinha, the Commandant of the 81 Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF), with the prestigious Director General’s Commendation Card and Disc. This accolade was awarded in recognition of the battalion’s outstanding operational and administrative contributions to border security.
The 81 Battalion, stationed at the Sonamura border under Sinha’s leadership, has been pivotal in intercepting suspicious activities, significantly curbing infiltration attempts by Bangladeshi nationals and Rohingyas, and effectively addressing trans-border crimes. Their relentless efforts have resulted in the apprehension of infiltrators and the seizure of a considerable amount of smuggled goods. These achievements have considerably strengthened the security and stability of the region.
This initiative by the Tripura Police to commend officers from central police forces like the BSF highlights the spirit of collaboration and mutual commitment to the nation’s safety. The accolade serves as a testament to the dedication and hard work of Rakesh Sinha and the entire team of the 81 Battalion.
Notably, in a recent operation, the BSF 81 Battalion stationed in Sonamura successfully seized 2 kilograms and 177 grams of gold, valued at approximately Rs 1.74 crore, from NC Nagar. The gold was discarded by 2-3 Bangladeshi smugglers who managed to escape due to heavy fog conditions, according to officials. This commendation not only acknowledges the present achievements but also underscores the ongoing commitment to maintaining regional security.
