Urgent Security Review: BSF DG Ensures Safety at Guwahati Frontier’s International Border with Diligence
The Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF), Daljit Singh Chaudhry, conducted a review of the security landscape and operational readiness along the Indo-Bangladesh border during a recent one-day visit to the BSF Guwahati Frontier.
During his visit, Chaudhry received a comprehensive briefing from Sanjay Gaur, Inspector General of BSF Guwahati Frontier, and other staff officers. The discussions focused on the current operational strategies and challenges faced at the border, with an emphasis on combating cross-border crimes and enhancing security measures. Various solutions to address these issues were deliberated.
Chaudhry commended the relentless dedication and efforts of the BSF personnel, particularly those stationed at the Guwahati Frontier, in their mission to secure the Indo-Bangladesh border and curb criminal activities. He reaffirmed the BSF’s unwavering commitment to national security, especially in the context of the existing unrest in Bangladesh.
Highlighting the importance of vigilance, Chaudhry urged all personnel to maintain high alertness and uphold their excellent performance in safeguarding the border’s integrity. In response to the turmoil in Bangladesh, the BSF has ramped up surveillance, particularly along unfinished sections of the border, to thwart illegal infiltration, smuggling, and human trafficking.
Despite adverse conditions and challenges, including seasonal obstacles like fog and heavy rainfall, BSF personnel remain on duty round-the-clock. To bolster border security, the BSF has enhanced its technological infrastructure by installing CCTV cameras and deploying advanced sensors to track any unauthorized crossings.
This proactive approach underscores the BSF’s dedication to addressing security challenges head-on while ensuring that the Indo-Bangladesh border remains fortified and secure against transnational threats.
