Fiery Claim: Tripura MP Dismisses CPIM as ‘Extinguished Candles’ – The End of an Era?
Former Tripura Chief Minister and Lok Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb criticized the CPIM during an event in Agartala, dubbing them as “fuse bulbs” and “extinguished candles” incapable of regaining power in the state. Deb asserted that the CPIM provides little opportunity for young people, saying their political advancement is stifled until they reach old age. He contrasted this with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which he claimed nurtures leadership potential regardless of age, citing the ability to become an MLA at 27 or a Chief Minister at 35.
Deb underscored the energy and potential of the youth, emphasizing that the BJP values young leaders, in contrast to CPIM’s aging leadership exemplified by former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar. He argued that communist leaders have historically failed to offer meaningful opportunities to the younger generation, instead exploiting them, thus limiting their potential and growth.
Deb further highlighted the negative impact of CPIM’s rule in Tripura, asserting that the state suffered under 35 years of communist governance. He opined that had the BJP been stronger earlier, the CPIM would not have maintained its long-standing authority in the region.
His remarks paint a picture of the CPIM as outdated and ineffective, while positioning the BJP as the party of choice for those seeking dynamic and modern leadership, aiming to inspire the youth to contribute to BJP’s growth and governance in Tripura.
