Experience the Enchantment: Global Kite Festival in Gujarat Welcomes Flyers from 47 Countries
The International Kite Festival 2025 is set to dazzle with vibrant displays as it welcomes enthusiasts from across the globe. Scheduled from January 11 to 14, the event will be organized by the Gujarat Tourism Department. A formidable lineup includes 143 kite flyers representing 47 countries, alongside 52 participants from 11 Indian states. Adding to the spectacle, 417 kite enthusiasts hailing from 11 cities within Gujarat will also showcase their skills.
The festival will kick off with an inauguration ceremony at the Vallabh Sadan Riverfront, attended by prominent figures such as Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Tourism Minister Mulubhai Bera. The celebration doesn’t stop at Ahmedabad; it extends to other renowned locations. On January 12, similar kite festivals will take place at the iconic Statue of Unity in Ekta Nagar, as well as in the cities of Rajkot and Vadodara. Furthermore, on January 13, Surat, Shivrajpur, and Dhordo will join in the festivities, hosting their kite events.
This festival serves not only as a vibrant cultural showcase but also as an opportunity for Gujarat to promote tourism and demonstrate its rich heritage. Participants and spectators alike can look forward to a mesmerizing display of colorful kites, reflecting both traditional craftsmanship and modern designs.
