Fiery Allegations: Mamata Banerjee Accuses BSF of Failing Border Security as BJP Fires Back
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has accused the Border Security Force (BSF) of enabling infiltration along the Bangladesh border, which she claims is part of a “nefarious blueprint” by the Central Government to destabilize the state. During an administrative meeting, Banerjee stated that the BSF’s alleged actions have led to the infiltration of criminals, who commit crimes in West Bengal and then return to Bangladesh. She argued that while the Trinamool Congress (TMC) is not responsible for border security, the Centre is, and she intends to address these concerns in a formal communication.
In response, BJP leader Sukanta Majumdar criticized Mamata Banerjee’s allegations, describing her comments as “delusional.” He pointed out that despite not providing land for additional BSF outposts, the Chief Minister continues to blame the BSF for infiltration issues, suggesting that she is now even criticizing her own administrative officials.
Additional scrutiny came from Arvind Kejriwal, who questioned whether the central BJP government was intentionally permitting or failing to prevent infiltration from Bangladesh. The ongoing debate highlights significant political friction between the West Bengal state government and the central authorities, with both sides exchanging sharp criticisms over the handling of border security.
