Exciting News: Narela’s Future Transformed with Proposed World-Class International Cricket Stadium, Announces BJP MP Yogender Chandolia
In New Delhi, plans to boost infrastructure in the city’s rural areas are taking shape as part of a broader initiative. An international cricket stadium, spanning 50 acres in Narela, is under consideration by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and aims to align with the “Khelo India, Jito India” mission. BJP MP Yogender Chandolia from North West Delhi expressed hopes for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s approval, acknowledging Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s active support.
A separate 50-acre site in Narela is earmarked for an educational hub, with proposed campuses for Delhi Technological University, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, and IIIT, as well as private universities and colleges. In transport developments, East Delhi MP Harsh Malhotra has requested Metro connectivity between the Central Vista, India Gate, and Rashtrapati Bhawan, as well as a Delhi to Karnal RRTS corridor, and a Noida-Faridabad-Gurugram high-speed link to ease IT professional commutes. Additionally, a rapid rail or Metro link between Delhi and Noida’s future airports is proposed.
West Delhi MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat highlighted several initiatives, including the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre and the Dwarka Golf Course. A 220-acre Bharat Vandana Park, projected at Rs 560 crore, plans to showcase the diversity of India. Under construction are a cricket and football sports complex alongside two proposed Metro lines connecting Delhi Aerocity to Gurugram and linking T1 to T3 of Delhi Airport.
In South Delhi, MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri reported on the delivery of flats to 6,500 slum dwellers and similar efforts planned for other areas. The government spent Rs 25 lakh per flat while charging residents Rs 1.40 lakh. Plans to upgrade slum clusters into multi-storeyed flats have commenced, alongside extending the Tughlakabad Metro line to Jaitpur.
