Urgent Update: Final Chance for Haj Pilgrims – Last Installment Deadline Extended to December 30, 2024!
The Haj Committee of India has extended the deadline for the payment of the second installment for Haj pilgrims to December 30, 2024. In alignment, the Joint State Haj Committee for Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and other northeastern states has also extended its payment deadline. Initially, pilgrims were instructed to pay their second installment of Rs 1,42,000 by December 16, 2024, via the e-payment facilities on hajcommittee.gov.in or the Haj Suvidha App. Alternatives included payment through specified slips at SBI or UBI branches.
The first installment of Rs 1,30,300 has already been paid by the provisionally selected pilgrims for Haj 2025. An official mentioned that the third installment will be determined after finalizing the airfare and Saudi expenses, with details to follow.
A total of 2,779 pilgrims have applied for Haj 2025, comprising 1,927 males and 852 females. These pilgrims will embark from five locations, with the majority, 1,725, departing from Guwahati, followed by 819 from Kolkata, 221 from Mumbai, 12 from Delhi, and 2 from Hyderabad. The departures are slated to begin in May 2025.
Besides participants from Assam, 26 pilgrims from Meghalaya, 13 from Nagaland, and 1 from Mizoram will join the pilgrimage. The Gauhati High Court has recently ordered the Haj Committee to resolve issues of excess fare within 90 days.
