Justice Awaits: Stepbrother Detained as Murder Weapon is Recovered – A Chilling Revelation
Guwahati, Dec 21: In a tragic incident that has shocked the local community of Tangla, the Assam Police have detained a suspect linked to the vicious murder of two minor siblings. The accused, believed to be the victims’ stepbrother, was apprehended shortly after the crime, along with the weapon allegedly used in the attack. Assam Director General of Police (DGP) GP Singh took to social media to confirm the arrest, stating, “The weapon of offence has been seized, and evidence is being collected as per procedure.”
The two boys were last seen on Friday, heading to school from Jorpukhuri, but their absence was noticed when they did not attend their examination. The headmaster alerted their parents, leading to a frantic search and the filing of an FIR. Tragically, their bodies were discovered on Saturday in a dense forest not far from their home, with their throats slit.
The brutal nature of the murders has left the community in shock and disbelief. A relative of the victims expressed surprise, saying, “We never imagined the stepbrother could commit such an act. He lived among us and was even enrolled in a nearby college for graduation.”
In response to the heinous crime, the Udalguri police launched an investigation with the assistance of a CID team, which has already uncovered some leads. “To help in the investigation, a CID team is also coming. We found some leads, but now we cannot disclose it,” stated Pushkin Jain, Superintendent of Police, Udalguri.
As investigations continue, DGP GP Singh announced that additional details would be shared in an upcoming media briefing by the Inspector General of Police of the Bodoland Territorial Region and SP Jain. The horrific incident has cast a pall of fear and mourning over the community, as residents grapple with the loss and hope for justice.
