Frustrated Youths Protest at Jail Police Headquarters Over Outrageous Recruitment Exam Delays
Job-seeking youths in Agartala have protested outside the Jail Police headquarters near Purbasha, calling for the prompt completion of the prison police recruitment exam. This demonstration stems from growing frustration over ongoing delays since a recruitment notice was issued in December 2022.
According to one protester, although 249 candidates completed a physical test shortly after the notice, the retained and oral exams have yet to be held, leaving the recruitment process in limbo. For nearly a year, aspirants have endured this uncertainty, despite making multiple deputations to request that the exams proceed.
The lack of clear communication and prolonged delay from authorities led the youths to escalate their grievances by staging a protest and submitting a deputation at the headquarters. This action underscores their urgent need for resolution and reinforces their demand for transparency and timely action in the recruitment process.
With the delay significantly impacting their job prospects, the protesters are seeking intervention to expedite the examinations and finalize the recruitment. As candidates await official responses, the situation highlights the broader challenges facing job-seekers and the necessity for accountability in public recruitment processes.
