Tripura CM Reviews Crucial NEC Plenary Preparations: Amit Shah and Jyotiraditya Scindia’s Inspirational Attendance
Tripura is set to host the 72nd Plenary Session of the North East Council (NEC) for the first time on December 21. Chief Minister Manik Saha, on December 10, conducted an inspection of key venues in Agartala, including the Ujjayanta Palace and Pragya Bhavan, to oversee preparations for the event. The Chief Minister emphasized the significance of the session for Tripura, highlighting that special arrangements are underway, including a major event at Ujjayanta Palace and the main session at Pragya Bhavan.
Union Home Minister and NEC Chairman Amit Shah is scheduled to arrive on December 20 for the session, accompanied by Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Jyotiraditya Scindia, along with the chief ministers, deputy chief ministers, and governors of Northeastern states. CM Saha stated the discussions during the plenary will concentrate on regional development and a review of ongoing and future projects. The event will also coincide with a meeting of the North Eastern-Space Applications Centre (NE-SAC).
Dr. Saha expressed pride in hosting such a significant gathering, emphasizing that the discussions would propel development initiatives in the Northeast. In addition to these developments, the Chief Minister shared his recent interaction with Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, and his son, Anant Ambani, during an event in Maharashtra. He revealed that he invited them to visit Tripura, and they showed genuine interest, with a Reliance team expected to visit the state soon. Dr. Saha conveyed optimism regarding Reliance Industries’ potential plans and investments in Tripura.
Overall, the plenary session stands as a pivotal moment for Tripura, aiming to enhance developmental strategies across the Northeastern region while fostering potential new investments and collaborations.
