Experience a Life-Changing Spiritual Journey: Haj Committee of India Empowers 1.22 Lakh Pilgrims
The Indian government announced that for the Haj pilgrimage in 2025, the Haj Committee of India will facilitate 1.22 lakh pilgrims. This allocation follows a bilateral agreement between India and Saudi Arabia, which determines the pilgrimage quotas for the Haj Committee of India and various Haj Group Organizations.
In a written response to a query in the Rajya Sabha, Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju explained that the distribution of the Haj quota has been set at 70% for the Haj Committee of India and 30% for Haj Group Organizations. As a result, the quota allocated to Haj Group Organizations for 2025 stands at 52,507 pilgrims.
This quota system arises from an agreement between Saudi Arabia and India, underscoring the diplomatic collaboration ensuring smooth participation for Indian pilgrims in the sacred journey to Mecca. These efforts aim to enhance the efficiency of India’s arrangements, ensuring seamless travel and accommodation for the participants during the pilgrimage.
By detailing these arrangements, the government highlights its commitment to managing the spiritual requirements and logistical preparations that are essential for the successful completion of the Haj pilgrimage. As the number of Indian pilgrims heading to Saudi Arabia increases, maintaining organized administrative measures becomes pivotal in upholding the sanctity and safety of this revered journey.
