Aamir Khan’s ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ Postponed: Fans Await Heartfelt Release in Mid-2025!

At the Red Sea International Film Festival, Aamir Khan provided updates on his latest film, Sitaare Zameen Par. The release of the film has been postponed to mid-2025, contrary to previous reports suggesting a December 2024 premiere. Serving as a thematic sequel to the 2007 classic Taare Zameen Par, the new movie will introduce a completely fresh set of characters and storyline, distinguishing it from its predecessor, which featured Darsheel Safary alongside Khan. Speaking to Deadline during the festival in Jeddah, Aamir mentioned that post-production is set to begin later this month, and they aim to be ready for release by the middle of next year.

Aamir Khan also shed light on his production house’s upcoming projects. He is producing Lahore 1947, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and featuring Sunny Deol. Another project in the pipeline is his son Junaid Khan’s film, Ek Din, starring Sai Pallavi. In addition, Aamir is involved in a production in which he stars, although specifics were not disclosed. Furthermore, there’s excitement around a new movie inspired by Austin Powers, being penned and helmed by Vir Das, who will also take on a starring role.

Presently, Aamir is occupied with the Oscar campaign for his film Laapataa Ladies. Alongside these ventures, Khan took the opportunity to respond to Shah Rukh Khan’s perspective on Indian films winning Oscar nominations, emphasizing the challenges in this highly competitive category.
