Empowering India: Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi’s Inspiring Vision for a Brighter Future
On December 6, Assam Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi urged the Central government to heed the pressing demands of farmers as they mobilize at the Shambhu border for a march to Delhi with a list of 12 demands. Highlighting the gravity of the situation, Gogoi advised the government against offering false assurances to the agrarian community.
Adding to the chorus, Samajwadi Party MP Ram Gopal Yadav advocated for government dialogue with the farmers, emphasizing that their protests stem from unmet demands. Yadav called for the acceptance of these demands to resolve the unrest.
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi criticized the BJP’s perceived apathy towards farmers, labeling the administration as “anti-farmer” and blaming them for introducing controversial agricultural laws. She noted that even the Vice President has criticized the Agriculture Minister for not fulfilling promises made to the farming community.
In the midst of political responses, farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher announced the peaceful march of 100 farmers towards Delhi. Authorities have responded by setting up barricades along the Ambala-Delhi border as the farmers plan to depart from the Shambhu Border at 1 p.m. today. Among their demands is a legal guarantee for a minimum support price (MSP), a key issue at the center of their protest.
With the protest gaining momentum, the situation remains tense as farmers, supported by various political leaders, continue to demand action from the government. As the scenario unfolds, the government is pressured to respond to avert further escalation.
