Breaking News: Assam STF Triumphantly Uncovers Counterfeit Currency Racket in Guwahati – One Arrested in Astonishing Bust
Guwahati’s Special Task Force (STF) amplified its crackdown on counterfeit currency, imitation gold, and narcotics with a notable operation on Sunday evening, December 1, in Khanapara. Prompted by reliable intelligence, a team headed by Inspector Kapil Pathak raided the vicinity near the Research Gate area under the jurisdiction of Dispur Police Station.
This decisive action led to the confiscation of 599 fake Rs 500 notes, valued at Rs 2,99,500, along with a mobile phone. Authorities arrested Rajiv Rongpi, a 33-year-old suspect from Hamren, West Karbi Anglong.
Officials have stated that the investigation is ongoing, and additional developments are anticipated in the coming days. This operation underscores the STF’s commitment to combating counterfeit operations and bringing those responsible to justice.
In related news, a fraudster was apprehended in a joint operation conducted by Itanagar and Leparada police in Arunachal Pradesh.
