Urgent Call to Action: Embrace a Safety-First Culture in Healthcare for Radioactive Therapies, Urges AERB Chairman
At the 44th annual conference of the Association of Radiation Oncologists of India (AROI) in Mangaluru, Dinesh Kumar Shukla, chairman of the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB), emphasized the importance of safety when handling radioactive therapeutic devices in healthcare. He urged healthcare institutions to adopt a culture of safety and to avoid illegal and unethical practices, highlighting that radiation exposure could be minimized with proper device use and adherence to safety protocols.
