Breaking: NIA Charges 12 in Shocking Attack on BJP Leader’s Convoy in Bengal | Kolkata News
In a significant development, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) filed a chargesheet on Tuesday against 12 individuals implicated in the attack on BJP leader Priyangu Pandey’s convoy. The incident occurred in the Bhatpara area of North 24 Parganas district in August, signaling a criminal conspiracy, as per the NIA’s findings. The accused, including Md Abed Khan, Md Arif, and several others, have been named in connection with the assault which took place near the Anglo Indian Jute Mill staff quarters on August 28. During the attack, Pandey’s convoy faced explosives and gunfire, resulting in injuries to his driver Ravi Verma and close aide Rabi Singh. The convoy was en route to the residence of former MP Arjun Singh when the attack transpired. This case has been filed before a special NIA court, highlighting the intricate planning behind the act.
