Heroic Deployment: 1.42 Lakh Brave Personnel Mobilized to Safeguard Law & Order Across the Nation
The Indian Government is intensifying its efforts to address security issues and enhance coordination among agencies along the Indo-Myanmar border, particularly in the Manipur region near Moreh town. The deployment of an additional 50 companies of paramilitary forces underscores these escalated measures aimed at stabilizing this sensitive area. Recently, State Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh and Manipur’s Director General of Police, Rajiv Singh, conducted their first visit to this border region, reviewing the security landscape and infrastructure in Moreh.
During their visit, a high-level security meeting was organized at the Inspection Bungalow in Moreh, attended by senior officials, including the district commissioner, superintendent of police, the commandant of the 5th Assam Rifles, and the Additional SP of Operations. Both top security officials reiterated their commitment to ensuring the safety of the region.
The dignitaries inspected critical sites like the Integrated Check Post and the Manipur Police Inspection Bungalow. They also evaluated the progress of border fencing projects by the Border Roads Task Force between Border Pillars 77 and 78 and assessed the unfenced areas between Border Pillars 79 and 80.
Overall, with the bolstering of security presence through additional paramilitary forces, over 100,000 central forces and 42,000 state forces are now engaged in maintaining law and order in this volatile border state. The unrest in Manipur, which has been ongoing since May 3, 2023, has resulted in the loss of over 258 lives, including those of security personnel.
