Urgent Alert: Brace Yourself for Severe Orange & Yellow Weather Warnings in T.N. from Nov. 25-29!
Heavy rainfall is anticipated in Tamil Nadu, particularly in areas like Thanjavur and Nagapattinam, starting November 25. The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) in Chennai has issued orange and yellow alerts in response to a weather system developing over the Bay of Bengal. This system is expected to intensify into a depression by November 25, potentially impacting the Tamil Nadu-Sri Lanka coasts over the following days. Coastal regions, including Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, and Nagapattinam, may face very heavy rain up to 24.4 cm, while eight other districts, such as Pudukottai and Cuddalore, anticipate heavy rainfall. Chennai and surrounding districts are forecasted to experience heavy rain by November 27-28, with additional rain expected in Tiruvallur and Vellore on November 29. Although the system is unlikely to escalate into a cyclone, it is advised that fishermen avoid deep-sea fishing due to adverse weather conditions expected from November 25 onwards. Despite current rainfall aligning with seasonal averages, districts like Chengalpattu and Kancheepuram still need additional precipitation to address existing deficits.
