Sree Renga Hospital in Chengalpattu hosted a free diabetes screening camp from November 15 to 17 to commemorate World Diabetes Day. The event, in partnership with Apollo Pro Health, was inaugurated by Chengalpattu Collector S. Arunraj. The inauguration also saw the launch of a commemorative souvenir, with notable attendees including Chief Educational Officer C. Karpagam, Joint Director of Health Services P.S. Theerthalingam, and Apollo Hospitals’ Medical Director of Preventive Health, Shreevidya.
Hospital representatives K.P. Pichumani and Anuradha Pichumani emphasized the importance of World Diabetes Day, recognized annually on November 14, while noting the camp’s alignment with the second year of a five-year initiative promoting healthy living for school students. The camp provided blood sugar level tests, body mass index assessments, and screenings for eye, foot, and dental issues. Attendees also benefited from a diet exhibition, counseling on proper nutrition, and a puppet show focused on diabetes management.
