This trend spans all income levels and age groups, with Gen Z and high earners showing the highest participation at 58% and 52%, respectively.
The ability to work from anywhere has become increasingly valuable, as noted by ZipRecruiter, and is a priority for many job seekers. To manage costs, travelers are opting to drive instead of fly, cut back on other expenses, or use discounts and deals. Bankrate reports that over 80% of travelers are economizing this season. Millennials, who plan an average of 2.6 trips and a spend of $3,927, have the highest travel budgets and longest itineraries, according to Deloitte’s survey.
High earners, who tend to be less price-sensitive, are leading holiday travel spending, with 52% stating they can easily afford travel expenses, found Morning Consult.
Travel remains a priority for Americans, despite financial constraints, as experts point out the lasting demand post-pandemic restrictions.
