In his address, Modi expressed heartfelt appreciation for the Bodo community, recalling his post-Accord visit to Kokrajhar, and underscored the transformative impact of peace accords on over 10,000 former militants who have embraced a peaceful path, contributing to sports and cultural events such as the Durand Cup. He hailed Assam and the Northeast as “India’s Ashta Lakshmi,” predicting the rise of development from this region.
Supporting this vision, Modi outlined the government’s substantial financial contributions, including a Rs 1,500 crore package for Bodoland’s growth, with significant investments in education, health, and culture. Manas International Park’s development has been highlighted as a key tourism draw, transforming former conflict zones into opportunities for youth.
Modi noted the Bodo Peace Accord’s role in paving the way for future agreements, highlighting its implementation as a model for successful conflict resolution. The festival marks a milestone in Bodoland’s journey towards peace and prosperity, with Modi commending their progress and shared future aspirations.
