The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has announced that it will conduct the preliminary examination in a single day, as per a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) on Thursday. This decision was made in response to protests held by several aspirants in Prayagraj, who gathered outside the UPPSC office demanding that the Provincial Civil Services (PCS) and Review Officer/Assistant Review Officer (RO/ARO) exams be completed in one day and one shift.
On the same day, UPPSC Secretary Ashok Kumar engaged with the protestors, opening a dialogue regarding their demands. Subsequently, the CMO revealed that a dedicated committee has been set up by the UPPSC to address the specifics of the RO/ARO Preliminary Examination-2023. This committee is expected to thoroughly assess the situation and present a comprehensive report soon, ensuring that all aspects are considered.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has acknowledged the concerns raised by the students in Prayagraj, emphasizing the need for effective communication and coordination between the Commission and the students. He has instructed the UPPSC to make informed decisions regarding the PCS Preliminary Examination 2024, ensuring transparency and fairness.
A video released by ANI showed significant police presence as a large crowd of aspirants gathered at the protest site, highlighting the intensity of the situation. The CM’s quick response and the formation of a committee reflect the government’s commitment to addressing student concerns and maintaining the integrity of the examination process.
