Kuki Students’ Organization Takes Bold Stand: Declares Non-Cooperation with CRPF After Shocking Jiribam Incident | Guwahati News

Guwahati: The Kuki Students’ Organization (KSO), a prominent student body, announced a “non-cooperation” stance against the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Tuesday. This move comes as a response to a recent operation by the CRPF and Manipur Police in Jiribam district, which resulted in the deaths of 10 individuals on Monday. While authorities identified these individuals as “militants,” the Kuki-Zo communities assert they were “village volunteers.”

The KSO’s demand includes restricting CRPF personnel to their camps until a public apology is issued for what they termed “barbaric actions” in Jiribam. The organization’s directive is in line with a larger movement of non-cooperation against the CRPF in Kuki-dominated regions, urging public compliance.

In response, Manipur IGP (AP-OPS) IK Muivah reiterated that the police and security forces function under government direction and leadership. He emphasized their commitment to acting with fairness and restraint, despite the ongoing challenges.

The KSO’s headquarters issued a stern warning to CRPF personnel about adhering to this directive, stating any violations would be at their own risk. The organization has instructed its districts and blocks to align with public sentiment and ensure immediate enforcement.
