Experience Unparalleled Luxury: Discover the Enchanting New Sleeper Train Journey Across England and Wales
LVMH-owned luxury hospitality brand Belmond is set to debut a high-end sleeper train, the Britannic Explorer, in July 2025. This opulent train will offer travelers a scenic journey through England and Wales across three distinct itineraries. Departing from London, the routes include the southwestern county of Cornwall, the northern Lake District of Cumbria, and a third journey through the scenic landscapes of Wales. The England itineraries will be available on weekends (Friday to Monday), while the Wales route will operate mid-week (Monday to Thursday), allowing travelers to combine two itineraries into one extended adventure.
The Britannic Explorer will feature 18 cabins, including 15 suites and three “Grand Suites,” along with bar and restaurant cars and a “wellness suite.” Inspired by a Victorian apothecary, the train’s bar car complements the dining experience crafted by celebrated British Chef Simon Rogan, known for his farm-to-fork culinary philosophy. The menu will highlight seasonal and sustainable ingredients sourced from across the UK.
Daytime excursions include visits to national parks, guided hikes, and the unique opportunity for “wild swimming” in the picturesque Lake District. Passengers traveling through the Cotswolds region in England can enjoy a stop at the renowned two-Michelin-starred hotel and restaurant, Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, near Oxford.
Pricing for a three-night journey begins at £5,800 ($7,460) per person, covering excursions, meals, and beverages, including alcohol. This new offering promises an immersive experience of the British countryside in unparalleled luxury.
