Exciting Leadership Boost: NEHU VC Shukla Appoints Dynamic New Pro VCs for Shillong and Tura Campuses!

In response to ongoing student protests, the Vice Chancellor of Meghalaya’s North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Prof. Prabha Shankar Shukla, has appointed new Pro Vice-Chancellors for its Tura and Shillong campuses. These appointments were announced on the night of November 13 and approved by the Executive Council, taking immediate effect.

For the Shillong campus, Prof. Sherwin May Sungoh from the Department of Education has been named Pro VC. Meanwhile, Dr. Fameline K. Marak from the Department of Garo will take on the role for the Tura campus. The university’s decision follows a week of intense student activism, marked by a hunger strike demanding improved facilities and the resignation of top administration officials, including Vice Chancellor Shukla.
