Shocking Investigation: Unraveling the Intense Fire at Aluva’s Busy Commercial Hub
A comprehensive investigation has begun into a significant fire at a power tools outlet located in Thottumugham on the Aluva-Perumbavoor road. The incident occurred on Sunday around 3:30 p.m., necessitating the deployment of over 20 fire tenders from across Ernakulam to contain the blaze. The fire, which erupted on the building’s top floor, was extinguished in approximately two hours. It resulted in severe damage, with welding units, drilling machines, and compressors being destroyed. Initial findings by the Department of Fire and Rescue Services suggest a short circuit involving batteries stored on the top floor as the possible cause. However, a definitive cause will be determined following evaluations by the Electrical Inspectorate and forensic experts. An inspection conducted on Monday revealed that three workers were present during the fire, and cardboard boxes used for packaging were also identified on the top floor. As part of the ongoing investigation, Aluva East police will review CCTV footage.
