Definitive Triumph: Amit Shah Confident of Crushing Defeat for ‘Power-Hungry’ MVA in Maharashtra
Mumbai, Nov 12 (IANS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphatically declared the impending defeat of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance in Maharashtra, asserting that the people stand firmly with the MahaYuti coalition led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking at a political rally in support of BJP candidates Parag Shah and Ram Kadam in Ghatkopar, Shah confidently predicted the formation of a MahaYuti government in the upcoming Assembly elections, dismissing the MVA’s chances.
Highlighting the BJP’s commitment, Shah referenced the recent release of the party’s Sankalp Patra-2024, contrasting it with the MVA’s manifesto unveiled by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. Shah criticized Kharge’s call for realistic promises, suggesting even the Congress leadership doubts their pledges. He also took aim at Congress’s proposal to reinstate Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, emphatically stating, “Rahul Baba, not even your future generations can bring back Article 370.”
Shah addressed recent legislative changes, noting the introduction of a bill to amend the Waqf Board. Referring to incidents in Congress-governed Karnataka where entire villages were classified as Waqf property, he assured that such acts would be invalidated post-amendment.
The Home Minister then accused Congress of planning religious-based reservations, citing a proposed 10 percent quota for Muslims. He argued that implementing this would necessitate cuts in the existing reservations for OBCs, Dalits, and Adivasis, suggesting Congress would sacrifice their quotas to cater to its vote bank. Emphasizing constitutional limitations, Shah reassured attendees in Ghatkopar that BJP would safeguard the existing reservations, stating, “Rahul Baba and company may try however hard they want, we will protect the reservation of OBCs, Dalits, and tribals.”
In his fervent address, Shah underscored the BJP’s readiness for the electoral challenge, urging support for the party to ensure stability and development in Maharashtra.
