Shocking Threat to Ayodhya’s Sacred Heritage: Gurpatwant Singh Pannun’s Alarming Attack on Ram Mandir and Temples
In a provocative video message released on Monday, separatist leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, designated by India as a Khalistani terrorist, threatened attacks on Hindu temples, specifically targeting Ayodhya. Pannun, affiliated with the banned Sikhs for Justice organization, vowed to “shake the foundations of Ayodhya, the birthplace of the violent Hindutva ideology,” as reported by India Today. The video included scenes of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Ram temple, captured during its inauguration earlier this year. Pannun pinpointed November 16 and 17 as the dates for these planned assaults, with the video reportedly filmed in Brampton, Canada.
Pannun’s threats extended to Indian citizens residing in Canada, warning them to steer clear of targeted attacks against Hindu temples. Additionally, he had previously cautioned passengers flying with Air India between November 1 and 19, a period he linked to the “40th anniversary of the 1984 Sikh genocide.” This threat is part of a recurring pattern, as Pannun had issued a similar warning earlier in 2023.
The dual citizen of Canada and the United States uses these threats to bring attention to his cause, emphasizing tensions that have persisted between pro-Khalistan supporters and the Indian government. Law enforcement agencies and the Indian community in Canada are on alert, as they brace for potential actions linked to these threats. Authorities in India and internationally are expected to closely monitor the situation and respond to ensure the safety of targeted individuals and sites. The video and its implications are under scrutiny as part of broader concerns regarding the impact of extremist rhetoric on community safety and international relations.
