Transformative Rs 100 Cr Road Fund & New Hospital: A Promising Leap Towards a Better Tomorrow!
Biswanath, Nov 7: With the Behali by-polls approaching, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma rallied support for BJP candidate Diganta Ghatowar by unveiling an array of development initiatives. At two well-attended campaign events in the constituency, Sarma announced a significant investment of Rs. 100 crore to enhance road infrastructure in the region. He also disclosed plans for constructing a new hospital in Tinisuti, near the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border, to bolster healthcare services.
Addressing the growing issue of man-animal conflicts, Sarma promised the installation of solar fencing in various parts of Behali to protect both residents and wildlife. Furthering his developmental agenda, he introduced welfare measures for small-scale farmers, including concessions on fertilizers and chemicals. He also assured land patents for those living in forest areas and pledged the construction of new bridges over the Buroi and Borgang rivers to alleviate traffic congestion.
Moreover, Sarma promised hostels for the boys and girls of tea tribes and committed to resolving local issues by 2025. He vowed to facilitate the stoppage of intercity trains at Bargang Railway Station, meeting a long-standing local demand. In a bid to assist the youth, Sarma announced that 1,500 unemployed young people from Behali will be integrated into the state’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan scheme within six months.
The political climate in Behali is heating up as the BJP, Congress, and CPI(M-L) intensify their campaign efforts ahead of what promises to be a closely contested by-poll. With Diganta Ghatowar representing the BJP, Jayanta Bora from Congress, and Lakshmi Kanta Kurmi from CPI(M-L) vying for victory, the race is set to be a pivotal moment in the region’s political landscape.
