Revolutionary Breakthrough: Delhi’s Superior Healthcare Triumphs Over Ayushman Bharat – AAP’s Powerful Stand
New Delhi, Oct 30: AAP’s Chief National Spokesperson, Priyanka Kakkar, has strongly criticized the Centre’s Ayushman Bharat scheme, labeling it as riddled with “scams.” She asserted that the Delhi government’s healthcare model surpasses the Union government’s initiative. Kakkar’s remarks came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized Delhi and West Bengal for not implementing the Ayushman Bharat scheme, expressing regret to seniors over 70 in these states for not receiving its benefits.
Addressing the Prime Minister’s critique, Kakkar accused him of spreading misinformation, emphasizing that under Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership, Delhi allocates 16% of its budget to healthcare, offering a more superior model. She alleged that the Central scheme was riddled with fraud, citing a CAG report exposing BJP members for allegedly misappropriating funds meant for deceased individuals.
Highlighting Delhi’s healthcare features, she stated that their model provides free medicines, tests, and OPD services without hospitalization or income limits, ensuring comprehensive care for all families. This includes 450 free tests and 359 free medicines.
Earlier, AAP minister Saurabh Bharadwaj also weighed in on the Ayushman Bharat scheme, pointing out its shortcomings, particularly the financial burden faced by patients once the Rs 5 lakh coverage cap is reached, even in government hospitals. He touted Delhi government hospitals for offering unlimited free treatment covering all medical needs, from tests to medicines, and highlighted that accident victims receive free care at any private hospital.
Challenging BJP members to visit Delhi’s government hospitals, Bharadwaj noted that almost half the patients admitted are from BJP-governed states like Uttar Pradesh.
The AAP government continues to stress its healthcare initiatives as a viable alternative to the central scheme, maintaining that its model provides more comprehensive and accessible care for Delhi’s residents.
