NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope has captured stunning images of seven remarkable star clusters, showcasing the wonders of our universe. Among these is Terzan 2, seen through the telescope’s Wide Field Camera 3 and Advanced Camera for Surveys. In the same collection, ESO 520-21 is located in the Ophiuchus constellation near the celestial equator. Another fascinating capture is Trumpler 14, notable for a “Bok globule,” a small, dense nebula of gas and dust.
The M80 cluster lies 28,000 light-years away and includes hundreds of millions of stars bound by mutual gravity. Similarly distant, at 162,000 light-years, is NGC 1651, a globular cluster within the Large Magellanic Cloud. M56 has also been studied by astronomers who analyze the light from its stars to understand its key characteristics.
Further highlighting the diversity of star clusters is Messier 2, located about 55,000 light-years away in the Aquarius constellation, where gravity holds numerous stars tightly together.
