Unlock Divine Blessings: Discover Rama Ekadashi 2024 Vrat Guide, Auspicious Timings, Rituals, and Spiritual Significance
Rama Ekadashi, a significant observance in Hindu tradition, will be marked on October 28, 2024. Falling on the eleventh day of the Kartik month during Krishna Paksha, it is known by various names including Rambha Ekadashi and Kartik Krishna Ekadashi. Celebrated with fervor just four days before Diwali, this Ekadashi holds profound spiritual significance.
According to Hindu scripture, observing the Rama Ekadashi fast, or Vrat, is believed to absolve devotees of past and present karmas, potentially leading to salvation. Those who fast and worship Lord Vishnu with deep devotion on this day are thought to be rewarded with wealth, health, and prosperity.
Rituals commence with a holy bath at dawn, followed by pooja, during which devotees exhibit unwavering devotion. Idols of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Laxmi are adorned as lamps are lit. Offerings of sweets, flowers, and vermillion are made, alongside the sacred items panchamrit and tulsi patra, which are thought to appease Lord Vishnu.
This year, enthusiasts across Karnataka, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh will observe Rama Ekadashi during Ashwina or Ashwayuja month, as per the local calendars. The day after the fast, known as Parana Day, ends at 10:31 am on Dwadashi.
Rama Ekadashi remains a pivotal occasion for millions of Hindus, promoting purification and spiritual awakening through its rituals.
