Heartfelt Plea: Empowering Parents in Their Fight for Daughter’s Chronic Illness Support
In Narimari, Morigaon district, a family’s life has been overshadowed by the chronic illness of their six-year-old daughter, Tanushree Kakoti. The daughter of Minthu and Sangeeta Medhi Kakoti has battled severe health issues since birth, a condition that has imposed a relentless emotional and financial strain on the family.
Their ordeal began merely three days after Tanushree’s birth when a routine vaccine led to alarming complications. A section of her thigh swelled significantly, marking the onset of an enduring health crisis. Over the past six years, the Kakoti family has spent approximately 12.5 lakh rupees on Tanushree’s treatment, seeking medical expertise from various facilities in Assam and as far as Patna.
Despite considerable efforts and resources, Tanushree’s condition remains unchanged, compelling her family to sell their household possessions and land, thereby losing their financial stability. In their desperate quest for help, the Kakotis have reached out to the public, hoping for financial assistance to continue her treatment. Morigaon’s district commissioner, Debashish Sharma, has offered support, yet the family still faces a significant gap in funding required for advanced medical care.
In an emotional appeal, Tanushree’s parents are urging compassionate individuals to contribute to her treatment, as they cling to the hope of finding a cure for their daughter. The dire circumstances have brought them to a point of seeking aid from the community, highlighting the profound impact of prolonged medical hardship.
