Tragic Collision on National Highway 315 Leaves Five Seriously Injured
A devastating road accident took place today on National Highway 315 near Ledo Tirap Colliery in the Margherita sub-division of Tinsukia district. Five individuals sustained serious injuries in a head-on collision involving a Suzuki Wagonr (registration AS23AF6672) traveling from Jagun to Margherita, and a Mahindra XUV (registration AR20 6715) moving from Ledo towards Colliery.
Eyewitnesses reported that the Mahindra XUV, allegedly driven by someone under the influence of alcohol, veered into the opposite lane, causing the collision. The impact was severe, leading to critical injuries among the occupants. One of the injured is Prabhat Gogoi, known locally as Papu, son of Prafulla Gogoi from Margherita’s Block Teenali Jaya Nagar. Prabhat was returning home from Lekhapani at the time of the accident.
All five injured were initially rushed to the Margherita Civil Hospital. Due to the seriousness of their injuries, they were later referred to a medical facility in Dibrugarh for advanced treatment. Local authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident, with further details pending.
