Shocking Discovery: Food Safety Officials Uncover 300 kg of Adulterated Tea Powder in Hyderabad!
In a significant crackdown, Telangana’s Commissioner of Food Safety task force teams seized 300 kg of adulterated loose tea powder in Hyderabad’s Fateh Nagar on Tuesday. The operation was conducted at the premises of M/s. Konark Tea after receiving a tip from the Central Zone Task Force of Hyderabad City Police about large-scale tea adulteration. Officials discovered that proprietor Jagannath Bisoyi, 32, was blending tea powder with 200 kg of coconut shell powder, and non-food-grade red and orange colors, along with artificial flavors like chocolate, cardamom, and milk. These adulterated products were allegedly supplied to tea stalls citywide. All seized items and samples have been sent for chemical analysis as authorities continue to investigate this public health threat.
