Compassionate Commerce: Zomato CEO Urges Malls to Show Empathy Towards Delivery Heroes
Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal has called for improved conditions for delivery partners at malls, following his personal experience working as a delivery executive. On Sunday, Goyal, along with his wife Gia Goyal (formerly Grecia Munoz), took on the role of delivery partners in Gurugram to better understand the challenges they face.
In a social media post, Goyal described his experience picking up an order from Haldiram’s at Ambience Mall. He noted the inconvenience faced by delivery partners, who were directed to take the stairs to the third floor, only to wait outside the mall’s entrance to collect orders. Goyal managed to sneak in during a guard’s break, highlighting the restrictions delivery partners often encounter.
Goyal’s experience provided him with the opportunity to gather feedback from other delivery partners, and he emphasized the need for malls to adopt a more considerate approach. He expressed his views in a video accompanying his post. The CEO’s first-hand insight underlines the urgency of collaborative efforts to enhance the working conditions for delivery personnel.
