EXCLUSIVE: Exciting Collaboration! Shah Rukh Khan Joins Forces with Amar Kaushik for a New Film; Secures Blockbusters King and Pathaan 2
In 2023, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan dominated the global box office with a remarkable Rs 2500 crore collection from his three releases: Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki. With this phenomenal success, anticipation is building for his future film projects. Reports indicate that Khan has locked in two major action films: “King,” directed by Sujoy Ghosh in collaboration with Siddharth Anand, and “Pathaan 2” as part of the YRF Spy Universe. However, Khan is keen on adding more variety to his lineup before starting “King,” which is set to begin filming in January 2025.
Currently, Khan is exploring scripts for a non-action film to diversify his slate. Notably, he has been in discussions with Amar Kaushik and Dinesh Vijan—creators of the hit film “Stree”—for a potential adventure film. This project, though unrelated to the Stree Universe, promises to kickstart a new universe. Despite several meetings, Khan has not yet made a final decision, indicating that further discussions are expected in the coming months.
In addition to the adventure film, Khan is in talks with filmmakers Raj and DK for a comic action thriller. He has shown interest in collaborating with them, provided certain script adjustments are made. There are also ongoing discussions with South Indian filmmakers for yet-to-be-locked action films.
While “King” is slated to wrap by mid-2025, Aditya Chopra plans to commence “Pathaan 2” towards the end of 2025 or early 2026, with a director expected to be finalized by March 2025. If the collaboration with Kaushik and Vijan materializes, it could unite some of Bollywood’s top talents within the lucrative Rs 500 crore club.
