60-Year-Old Woman Allegedly Burnt Alive by Sons in West Tripura
Guwahati: In a horrifying incident in the Khamarbari area under Champaknagar police station in West Tripura, a 60-year-old woman was allegedly burnt alive by her two sons on Saturday night. Preliminary investigations suggest a family dispute may have led to this brutal crime.
The woman had been living with her two sons since the death of her husband 18 months ago, while her third son resided in Agartala, the state capital.
Upon receiving information about the incident, a police team rushed to the scene and found the charred body of the woman still tied to a tree. The body was subsequently sent to the hospital for a post-mortem examination.
The police have arrested both sons on charges of murdering their mother. They are currently being interrogated and will be presented before the court on Monday, where the police will seek their custody for further questioning.
