- Academic Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade from a recognized university.
- Ph.D. in a relevant discipline with evidence of published work.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 15 years in teaching/research/administration at the level of Associate Professor or Professor in universities/colleges.
- Academic Performance:
- Minimum score as per Academic Performance Indicator (API) based on Performance-Based Appraisal.
- Relaxations:
- 5% relaxation in marks for SC/ST/Differently-abled candidates.
- 5% relaxation for Ph.D. holders who obtained their Master’s degree before September 19, 1991.
- Age Limit:
- Upper age limit of 55 years.
- Term:
- Five years or until the age of retirement, whichever is earlier.
- Research:
- At least 10 publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals.
- Minimum research score of 110 as per Appendix II, Table-2.

- Candidates must send their applications in the prescribed format by DHE, Assam, along with a complete bio-data and supporting testimonials from HSLC onwards.
- Applications should include a Demand Draft for Rs. 3,000, payable to the Principal, Cachar College, Silchar, at State Bank of India, Silchar Branch.
