Heart-Wrenching Loss: Israeli Army Kills 2 Palestinians in West Bank, Source Reveals
Two Palestinians were killed by Israeli army gunfire in separate incidents in the West Bank, Palestinian sources reported on Wednesday.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) announced that 37-year-old Zahoor Amour was fatally shot in the village of Anza, near Jenin in the northern West Bank. Four others, including two women and a child, were injured in the same incident. The PRCS indicated that three of the injured, a 73-year-old woman, a 9-year-old child, and a young man, are in critical condition.
Israeli troops reportedly entered Anza to conduct an arrest campaign, leading to live gunfire and the resultant casualties. Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli forces not only invaded Jenin but also surrounded hospitals, searched ambulances, bulldozed streets, and raided multiple homes.
In a separate incident in the southern West Bank, 29-year-old Yahya Awad was killed by a gunshot wound to the chest during an Israeli army incursion into the Al-Fawwar refugee camp near Hebron, as stated by the Palestinian Health Ministry. The raid, marked by live gunfire and sound bombs, also injured four young men, who were taken to a local hospital with injuries ranging from moderate to minor.
Both incidents occurred amidst heightened tensions in the region following the outbreak of conflict between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023. Israeli authorities have yet to comment on these events.
These developments reflect the escalating violence and instability in the West Bank, complicating the already fraught situation between the Israelis and Palestinians. As tensions continue to rise, the international community watches closely, fearing further deterioration in the region’s stability.
