Transforming Lives: Empowering Communities with Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan, Advanced Sanitation Solutions & MANAS Helpline
The Modi 3.0 government has completed its first 100 days of a historic third term, marked by launching projects worth 15 lakh crore rupees targeting infrastructure, social welfare, farmers, the middle class, women, and youth. Staying true to the principle of Antyodaya, the administration aims to uplift the poor and marginalized.
Key initiatives include the Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Unnat Gramme Abhiyan, which addresses the socio-economic needs of five crore tribal people in 63,000 villages. Over 2.9 lakh Unique Disability Identity cards have been generated, facilitating access to tailored benefits under government schemes.
The National Action for Mechanised Sanitation Ecosystem scheme now includes waste pickers, furthering their social and economic empowerment. In the fight against substance abuse, the government has launched the Madak Padarth Nishedh Asuchna Kendra and the MANAS helpline (1933), which provides de-addiction advice and allows citizens to report drug trafficking as part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign.
Additionally, to enhance the oversight and resolution of disputes related to Waqf properties, the Waqf (Amendment) Bill 2024 was introduced in Parliament. These steps collectively underscore the government’s commitment to comprehensive social welfare and development.
