Heartbroken Mother Demands Justice for Son: Gurugram Police Accused of Inaction
In a tragic incident early Sunday morning, a 23-year-old biker, Akshat Garg from Dwarka, Delhi, lost his life following a head-on collision with an SUV driving in the wrong direction on Golf Course Road near Belvedere Park, DLF Phase II in Gurugram. The victim’s mother has accused the Gurugram police of failing to support their quest for justice, questioning the swift bail granted to the SUV driver involved in the fatal accident. She expressed her grief and frustration, stating, “I want justice for my son. A wrong person killed my son. My only question is, why was he released on bail? My son is no more, but he (the accused) slept peacefully that night… Why is the police not helping us?”
Meanwhile, Vikas Kaushik, ACP of DLF Gurugram, commented on the situation, noting that the accused had presented all vehicle documents but lacked a driving license at the time, which has now led to further actions. ACP Kaushik mentioned, “Instructions have been given to the investigative officer to add further sections to the case, including those under the Motor Vehicles Act, and further action will be taken if necessary. He has submitted the documents of his vehicle.”
A senior police officer reported that neither Garg nor the SUV driver could avoid the collision. Garg’s friend, Pradyuman Kumar, who was trailing him on another bike, stated that his GoPro camera recorded the entire incident, yet the police did not collect a copy of the footage, even after inspecting it.
This tragic accident raises concerns over road safety and the judicial process, as the victim’s family continues their fight for justice amidst questions surrounding the responsibilities and actions of the local police.
