India vs Bangladesh Test Series: Rohit Sharma’s Unfazed Response To Challenges

As India prepares to face Bangladesh in the first Test of a two-match series, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma addressed the media in Chennai on Tuesday. The much-anticipated series is scheduled to commence on Thursday, September 19, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

During the press conference, Rohit Sharma exuded confidence and emphasized the team’s focus on their game rather than getting distracted by external comments. Sharma pointed out that every team enjoys beating India, but such remarks don’t concern them. He highlighted that their primary goal remains to play good cricket and secure victories.

"Every team wants to beat India and they enjoy that. Let them. Our job is to concentrate on winning the match," said Sharma. He added, "When England visited earlier, they also talked a lot during press conferences, but we didn’t focus on that. We aim to bring results in our favor through our game."

Sharma further noted that regardless of the opposition—be it Bangladesh, Australia, England, Zimbabwe, Kenya, or New Zealand—there is no need for drastically different strategies, except for minor adjustments for new players. "We’ve played cricket against all teams, so there’s no need to do anything different. We discuss new players briefly and move forward, focusing on our game," he stated.

Rohit’s comments came in response to Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto’s assertion that his team aims to win both matches in the series. Shanto, speaking to reporters before departing for India, expressed confidence following a strong series against Pakistan. "This will be a challenging series, but we have extra confidence from the recent success against Pakistan. We aim to win both matches by focusing on our process and executing our job properly," Shanto said.

The series promises to be an exciting contest, with both teams eager to prove their mettle on the field.
