Assam University Holds 21st Convocation, Awards Over 7,000 Degrees
Silchar: Assam University, a central institution in Silchar, marked its 21st convocation ceremony across two days, Friday and Saturday. During this prestigious event, more than 7,000 students received degrees in various disciplines, including Bachelor’s, Master’s, MPhil, and PhD. Neelima Gupta, vice-chancellor of Dr. Harisingh Gour University, Sagar, served as the chief guest. She was joined by Prof. Rajiv Mohan Panth, vice-chancellor of Assam University, Chancellor Arup Raha (retd.), Dr. PK Nath, registrar, and other prominent academic and administrative figures.
The second day began with the National Song, followed by the awarding of degrees to over 3,000 students from diverse fields. Following the conferrals, both the vice-chancellor and the chancellor delivered motivating speeches to the new graduates, encouraging them to pursue lifelong learning and contribute positively to society.
