Thanjavur, September 13, 2024 – The Additional District Court I in Thanjavur has sentenced two individuals to double life imprisonment for the murder of a college student, Manojkumar, over a love affair in 2013. They were also fined ₹10,000 each under Section 302 of the IPC and received an additional four-year imprisonment and ₹2,000 fine under Section 201 of the IPC.
Manojkumar, a B. Tech student from Pudupattinam, Thanjavur, went missing on December 28, 2013. After his father, Sukumaran, filed a missing person report on December 30, the police discovered Manojkumar’s injured body washed ashore in an irrigation channel near Thanjavur.
